Opto System VVS2000 Inspection Machine; commonly referred to as the three-facet visual inspection machine ;performs visual inspection on the top side and facets of the laser diode chips.
Defects of 1µm or larger are detected on the top while defects of 3µm or larger are detected on the facets.
The machine utilizes a specially designed optical stage to complete inspection without the need to pick up the diodes from the tape. In addition, the design allows the removal of defective chips during auto operation. These features reduce takt time and increase throughput. The image of each laser is analyzed using a state-of-the-art algorithm. Images can be can be stored in a database for reference and full audit trail.
